To celebrate the relaunch of our restaurant, The Riverside, we’ve got Helen Vass coming to showcase our famous Dunkeld House Afternoon Tea.
Helen, of Number 16 in Glasgow’s West End, was part of the winning Team Tilling, on TV’s Bake Off Crème de la Crème in 2016. The show saw 15 teams of 3 pastry chefs showing off their patisserie skills in a variety of challenges, over 8 weeks and was hosted by Dopamine Diet darling, Tom Kerridge. Helen and her team mates won with a final showpiece, which came to life as an all chocolate show-stopper incorporating copper bowls, chopping boards, spoons, spatulas, lemons and a steaming pot on top. Designed to cater for 100 guests, the structure also included individual desserts served in traditional Kilner storage jars and panna cottas served on flour scoops.
Helen had become a patisserie chef only 3 years earlier, training initially at City of Glasgow College (home to Masterchef The Professional’s winner Gary Maclean) and then spending time in Barcelona and Singapore, as well as at Gleneagles.
The great news is that you don’t just need to take our word for it! Helen will be working with the Dunkeld House Hotel kitchen team over the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of April to offer an exclusive Afternoon Tea experience, for just £35 per person.
